Marketing Your Business
We commonly hear the phrase, "If you build it they will come". Well, when it comes to your business we'd be foolish to allow that thought to guide our marketing. Unless you are opening a practice in a town where you are the sole provider, you will have competition. If your business is non-clinical in nature, chances are, it's not the only one. Our objective in this section is explore and discuss the many and varied approaches to marketing and promotional activities that can help you grow your business. Even better, we plan to give you some creative and cost effective(i.e., low cost and free) methods of marketing. While marketing has blossomed into a science…it is still not exact. Why…because we are dealing with people...and while we are all somewhat predictable…we are also varied in our response and our patterns of obtaining health care. Though NP's have been around for over 30 years, we are still a "new" and often "untried" professional. The most important aspect about marketing is to be consistent. Marketing is not a chore to be done only when we have some down time. Marketing never stops. Never that is, until you are ready to close up shop.

Marketing Your Practice On A Budget, Part One
Barbara C. Phillips, NP
For any practice, the lifeblood comes from our patients. If we have no patients, we have no income and no business. Oftentimes when we think of marketing, we think of advertising which causes us to see dollar signs all over the place. But does marketing have to cost lots of money? Yes and no. . . . keep reading
