NP Business Tip: Living Your Business and Life Dream.

Many business leaders and business coaches will often advise you to start with the end in mind when you start to plan your business. While this exercise is about business building, it's perfectly applicable to any area of your life by just adjusting the questions.

It's recommend you find a quiet, contemplative spot for this exercise. Feel free to come back to it several times as you gain a clearer idea of what you want your business, your life to look like. Write your answers down.

  • Think about what you want your business to look like when it's all said and done.
  • Where will it be?
  • What does your space look like?
  • How many clients/patients are you seeing per day?
  • What services do you provide?
  • How much time do you actually spend in and on your business?
  • Do you have staff?
  • How many?
  • What do you charge for your services?
  • What is your gross and net income?
  • How much time off do you take each year?
  • Are you working with insurance companies or is your business cash based?
  • What other services are you providing?
  • Who benefits from your success (ie, the giving back part)?
  • Just what does it feel like?
  • What is stopping you from moving forward in your business?
  • What are you biggest challenges?
  • If you are not meeting your goals, what is needed in order for you to do so?
Use the questions above to help stimulate your thinking. You'll find that it helps to come back to it over and over again. Revise it as your clarity and focus sharpens.

NPBO™ Action Step: Write down your answers to the questions above. Discuss them with other NP entrepreneurs, your partner/significant other. Get their feedback, listen to their ideas. It's always good to try and view it from a different perspective. Now…dream big, really big.
